EUGENE, Oregon – Oregon will face SMU on Friday at Matthew Knight Arena. This is the very first meeting between the two teams.

LAST TIME
UO led Texas Southern end to end and improved to 10-2 in the opening games of the season under coach Altman.
The Ducks have shot 90.5 percent from the free throw line, the 10th time the team has shot over 90 percent since 2010-11.
OU’s net 12 three pointers and improved to 29-5 under Altman making 12 or more.
Will richardson led all scorers, recording his fourth career game by 20 points (4-0).

DISTINGUISHED DUCKS
The No.13 Ducks are starting the season as one of two Pac-12 programs ranked in the top 25 in the AP poll.
This is the eighth time Oregon has been featured in the preseason poll and the AP’s 155th overall appearance in the top 25.
The Ducks were chosen to finish second in the Pac-12. This is the team’s seventh consecutive top four pre-season.

Guardian Will richardson was named to the first-team all-conference preseason Pac-12, his second consecutive season winner
honors from all preseason conferences.
He is the only player in the conference to be named to each of the last two preseason all-star teams.
Richardson is one of 20 players nationwide to be named to Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Watchlist.
He is one of 50 players nationwide to make the Naismith Trophy Watch list.

TURNERS
In addition to Richardson, UO returns key contributors in senior redshirt Eric Williams Jr., junior N’Faly Dante and second Franck Kepnang.
Williams is one of 36 players in program history to record 1,000 career points.
Dante was in six games last season and shot 65.5 percent from the field.
He holds the Matthew Knight Arena record for FG%, hitting 10 of 10 field goal attempts on December 9, 2020 against Florida A&M.
Kepnang shot 67.9% from the field last season (19 of 28) and led the team in blocks nine times.
